Vacheron Constantin American 1921 Limited Edition Watch For Milan

Look really closely at the dial of this Vacheron Constantin watch, and find the minute markers between 6 and 7 oclock. Notice how they look a bit blurry? In actuality they are letters, and spell out PISA. This is intentionally done and part of one of the most clever and fun limited edition watches I have seen from the prestigious Swiss Watch brand. Vacheron Constantin will produce 12 limited edition versions of their American 1921 watch for Milan, Italy based retailer Pisa. Each model in the limited edition, to signify which number it is, will have a different one of the hour indicators done in red versus black. Since there is no 3 oclock indicator, one of the pieces will simply have each numeral done in red.

The American 1921 watch come out a few years ago, but is based on a model Vacheron Constantin custom made for an American client in the 1920s. The watch is unique having a tilted dial. The cushion shaped case will be in gold I believe, and contain an in-house made Vacheron Constantin calibre 4400 manually wound mechanical movement that bears the Seal of Geneva. The movement, while technically simple, has a subsidiary seconds hand and a power reserve of 65 hours. It is also beautifully decorated. This very attractive limited edition version of the American 1921 will no doubt be a hit with Pisas Vacheron Constantin fans.
