Ferrari Unveils 612 Scaglietti Replacement, the FFour
In advance of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari has unveiled the long-awaited replacement to the 612 Scaglietti, and as expected its a game-changer thats going to leave some enthusiasts underwhelmed. While unmistakably a Ferrari, the shooting brake-style design by Pininfarina resembles a BMW Z3 coupe, perhaps a little too closely for the comfort of some. Whether recalcitrant fans can be win over by the tech on Ferraris first-ever all wheel drive is still up for debate. The famed marque says the FFours AWD system weighs only half as much as those of competitors, making it both lighter and quicker than the outgoing 612.
Backing up the AWD is plenty of power generated by a brand new direct injection 6.3-liter V12 engine kicking out 651 hp. With the weight-saving construction Ferrari says that should be good for a 0 100 km/h clock of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph. The shooting brake fastback setup provides plenty of luggage space to boot, so to speak while the front end takes its cue from the 458 Italia. The FFour will join an elite cadre of AWD supercars including the Audi R8, Lamborghini Murcielago and Bentley Continental; we cant wait to see them battling it out on the frozen wastelands.
