Swine & Wine At Corkbar, Los Angeles

I am totally obsessed with bacon right now. Black Forest bacon, Applewood smoked bacon, you name it, I love it. Apparently, Im not the only one. Bacon is the culinary worlds current obsession, which Corkbar in Los Angeles is celebrating with its Swine & Wine event February 2nd. The menu, designed especially for pork lovers and wine enthusiasts, pairs bacon-centric dishes with hand selected wines. And, amazingly, its only $25 plus an additional $13 for the wine pairing. That is my kind of good deal right there.

The menu includes a host of amazing dishes, including a frise and bacon salad with roasted tomato, shallot, bacon lardons, and grain mustard vinaigrette; Bhn Mi sliders, made with cured pork belly, Hoisin glaze, Sambal aoli, micro cilantro, and pickled daikon and carrot, served on a brioche bun with a side of Sriracha sauce; and a bacon chocolate cupcake with caramel whipped cream and bacon lardons. Holy cow, er, pig!

Is it us or are there a whole bunch of great new watch designs coming out these days? Remember TikTok and LunaTik , the iPod Nano conversion project we showed you on the crowd-sourced funding site KickStart? Well today we've got another timepiece project for you, also currently being featured on Kickstart. The Haptica is an innovative timepiece that indicates time using braille. The dots actually rotate on the face of the Haptica and as found and designer David Chavez puts it, represent a major step forward in timepieces for the visually impaired. If the project reaches its $150,000 capital goal, produciton will begin and each will cost around $250. Currently, Haptica has 24 backers and $13,085 secured, so we need to get some major support going here! The Eterna Kon Tiki Concept Diver: A True Modern Classic, For Sale

In the popular (read: crowded and too often boring) dive watch market it seems that some of the most popular recent ( and upcoming ) releases have been trips down horological memory lane. One such stand out of 2010 was the reissue of the 1973 Kon Tiki Super , from Eterna, a great brand with a long history (they founded ETA before selling it to the Swatch Group). The Eterna weve found for you today was first seen in 2005 and is also called a Kon Tiki. Say hello to the radically styled and technically impressive Kon Tiki Concept diver. Its most notable feature is its flip out case; the PVD titanium container pivots out from the skeletonized steel bridge. Why go to all this fuss?
