Scott Gramlich was looking for perfect audio speaker sound quality. He found it in cornucopias, coffins and gigantic ice-cream sundaes.

Take them for bizarre or beautiful; these one-of-a-kind custom speaker sculptures from the house of SG Custom Sound (SGCS) are sure to turn more than a few heads. Scott Gramlich, the man behind the firm, has been merging ideal acoustics and aesthetics to create uniquely individualized speaker system for years. His his first quirky speaker casing was the Cornucopia, which is made out of durable papier-mch. He has speakers in giant cylinders painted with underwater scenes or covered in paisley fabric, amplifiers in spaceships and an art nouveau-style speaker sculpture topped with an aluminum bird feeder. Gramlich says

If we make a work of art out of a speaker, we not only improve its sound quality but also have no need to hide it anymore. Its really a perfect marriage between art and science.

One of his strangest creations is a 3-foot-high ice-cream sundae, which actually contains a speaker. A pair of cornucopias sells for $1,250. There are two smaller speakers housed in flower vases that sell for between $650 and $700.
