For all those individuals yearning for exclusivity and for a stylish reflection of personal panache, this amazing turntable made from motorcycle parts seems to be a great option. But, the only thing that stops you from buying one is that its just a stunning prototype. In a recent collaborative exhibition between Triumph Motorcycles and the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, young industrial designers created a range of products using motorcycle components as the base materials.

The gorgeous turntable by British designer Richard Underhill is one of the highlights, and it features a cylinder head as the disc platter and a motorcycle brake part in the needle arm. Other creations include bowls, corkscrews, scales and a stylish hat stand.

Remember TikTok and LunaTik , the iPod Nano conversion project we showed you on the crowd-sourced funding site KickStart? Well today we've got another timepiece project for you, also currently being featured on Kickstart. The Haptica is an innovative timepiece that indicates time using braille. The dots actually rotate on the face of the Haptica and as found and designer David Chavez puts it, represent a major step forward in timepieces for the visually impaired. If the project reaches its $150,000 capital goal, produciton will begin and each will cost around $250. In the popular (read: crowded and too often boring) dive watch market it seems that some of the most popular recent ( and upcoming ) releases have been trips down horological memory lane. One such stand out of 2010 was the reissue of the 1973 Kon Tiki Super , from Eterna, a great brand with a long history (they founded ETA before selling it to the Swatch Group).
