Bota Bota - Former ferry turned luxury floating spa

bota bota floating spa

This is the worlds first spa-on-a-boat docked at Montreals Old Port. Offering a one-of-a-kind experience to its guests, the luxurious upmarket Bota Bota floating spa was once a ferry. Spread out among five ship decks, the floating spa offers amazing panoramic views of the city, and features a cocktail bar-cum-pedicure lounge, an open air whirlpool and a sub-aquatic changing room. There are over 20 treatment rooms. Guests can find themselves surrounded by one of the largest natural elements in Montreal, the Saint Lawrence River. The Bota Bota experience allows city dwellers to take advantage of privileged access to the river while enjoying a signature healing and revitalizing water circuit.

Jean Pelland, the architect behind the project, said

We wanted to create an environment that would allow the user to rediscover the imagery related to a boat trip, even though he or she would not be on the move, but rather in contemplation of Montreal and its river.

Entrepreneurial sisters Natalie and Genevieve Emond purchased the 2,500-square-meter boat in 2008 and since then, they were looking for a unique location to open a high-end treatment center.
