Beckhams used Porsche 911 Turbo auctioned off for $217,100

David and Victoria Beckham are known for their lavish lifestyle and making a style statement in whatever they do. Recently, Davids customized Porsche 911 Turbo went up for sale on eBay. The custom-built 2008 matte-black Porsche was able to fetch a record price of $217,100 for their used and completely customized Porsche. The black Porsche is fitted with heated front seats with Beckhams Los Angeles Galaxy jersey number (23) stitched into the headseats, blacked-out headlamps, black alloy wheels, a sports exhaust system, a 23emblazoned Porsche logo, parking assist, module for telephone PCM and remote CD changer. While a 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo sells for $132,800, this $217,100 price tag is what is known as The Beckham effect.

Remember TikTok and LunaTik , the iPod Nano conversion project we showed you on the crowd-sourced funding site KickStart? Well today we've got another timepiece project for you, also currently being featured on Kickstart. The Haptica is an innovative timepiece that indicates time using braille. The dots actually rotate on the face of the Haptica and as found and designer David Chavez puts it, represent a major step forward in timepieces for the visually impaired. If the project reaches its $150,000 capital goal, produciton will begin and each will cost around $250. In the popular (read: crowded and too often boring) dive watch market it seems that some of the most popular recent ( and upcoming ) releases have been trips down horological memory lane.
