Ahmadinejads Creaking Peugeot 504 to Fetch $1M?

The creaking 1977 Peugeot 504 that ferried around President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his 2005 election campaign is heading to auction where it could fetch a staggering sum of money. The vehicle helped foster Ahmadinejads down-to-earth image to the Iranian people and is being auctioned to raise money for housing the countrys disabled and women-in-need.

The administration has promised to build nearly 1 million housing units by March 2011 and a website has been launched to invite bids on the vehicle. Offers are being accepted until the end of January and the car has already attracted a $1 million bid.

Remember TikTok and LunaTik , the iPod Nano conversion project we showed you on the crowd-sourced funding site KickStart? Well today we've got another timepiece project for you, also currently being featured on Kickstart. The Haptica is an innovative timepiece that indicates time using braille. The dots actually rotate on the face of the Haptica and as found and designer David Chavez puts it, represent a major step forward in timepieces for the visually impaired. If the project reaches its $150,000 capital goal, produciton will begin and each will cost around $250.
